howdy do,
so my day has been like this so far. I had to get up really early (7:00) to get ready for math class. I got dressed into my wrangler low rise jeans, my hunger games t-shirt and my black tennishoes. I pulled back my hair and brushed my teeth then put on some doderent because i get all sweaty sometimes walking to class and i want to smell good anyway. So i go into the kitchen where meghan is eating breakfast, i say hello and make myself a bowl of reese's puffs with a little bit of milk. I over hear that meghan has been up since four and wasn't able to go to sleep but i was to tired to comment. after i finish my cereal i pack my things and head out with cherise and meghan to walk to school. we make it to class with lots of time and i walk in and find that it is full of those desks that have that tiny section to write on on my side of the chair. I'm thinking omg there isn't going to be a left handed desk, but i found that there was two of them in the corner. thank god. (you guys keep distracting me with your im chat) so i sit down and try to get situated which is not easy in those chairs surprisingly. math decided to pretty much frustrate me because i kept making the stupidest mistakes. we also do something very high school were we got into groups and introduced each other to the class. after class i walked back to the dorms did my homework (yes i actually did it) then sat down with a book for an hour or two. it was very nice. then i talked with tim for a good 2 hours, attempted to make kung pao chicken and now i'm here writing this and about to watch glee.
so that's all for my love yall
Becca

Dear friends, After a blissful weekend of doing absolutely nothing, I awoke Monday morning at the ungodly hour of 5:30 AM for my first day of clinicals. I was super nervous (but looked so cute in my blue scrubs with my stethoscope around my neck) however we luckily had a partner for our first patient. My patient was very friendly and cooperative. She didn't mind having students working on her and even called us timid. Give us a break lady! It's our first day! It was definitely a learning experience and I'm excited to go back next week. After clinicals I was dead on my feet but could not go to sleep that night. Unfortunately because I was thinking about a boy. For those of you who don't know, I found out my love, Stephen has a girlfriend! I've met her before and always thought she was kind of a bitch. Sigh. That's life I guess. Sometimes the bitch wins. So anyway I was depressed for a good 12 hours but then I decided I'm on to bigger and better boys, I mean things. I kind of thought this guy named Preston in my clinical group was flirting with me on Monday but I'm not sure and anyway he is kind of a flirting whore. But he also texted me last night asking about government homework and I had a very embarrassing moment where I thought he was my neighbor Preston who is in my honors government class. Really what are the chances of knowing two Prestons! It's not that common of a name! However I realized my mistake before I could make a fool of myself. Today I had to go pass off some skills for Nursing. I am the queen of subcutaneous injections and wet to moist dressing changes! I scored a 99.5! Then I went to get my flu shot at the University Clinic. I don't care how old I get I still have that little kid idea of shots and I still hate getting them and can never watch even though I was curious since I know how to give them now. I've decided to join my gym (the one that all the old people go to) again that I joined last year so I can get back in shape. I've been going running and to step aerobics and the occasionally yoga class but I really need to start weight lifting again. Midterms next week so I've got a lot of studying to do this weekend. I was going to go home but decided I have too much to do so I will be going next week instead. My arm is really starting to hurt now so I'm going to go take some pain killers and have a snack!
Much love, Kaitlin

My Dearest Friends, I'm already going to tell you now, this letter will be a short one I fear. I don't really feel good, and as it is I'm thinking bout an 8 o'clock bed time. lol. This week hasn't been bad, no tests, and relatively few stresses. Amanda, Jordan's friend, spent last weekend with us, and she's cool. And we had a good weekend, if things were slightly awkward when Chelsea came to pick Amanda up Monday night. Other than that, not much excitement has occured. I've been hanging out a lot with Rachel and our new friend Rebecca. Rebecca and I went out dancing last night, and this guy, Adam, was hitting on me all night long. It was nice to get attention of course, but it made me miss James. But he's coming to visist in a week. Which I'm very excited about. Speaking of James, he absolutely made my day today. We were talking bout training dogs and I said I could train a dog to go fetch him drinks from the fridge. And he said he was waiting. When I told him he might have to stick around a while to see it he said he didn't think we had a problem with that I know it's stupid and not much, but it meant a lot to me. I got my halloween costume today! Too bad I'm not going to any awesome parties besides the one my grandparents are having. Becuase it's an awesome sexy pirate costume, and I love it. I will be coming home this weekend... but not next weekend. Sorry guys But maybe I will get to see some of you this weekend. Unfortunately, I'm babysitting tomorrow night, but I don't think I'll be there too late, and us night owls can stay up and do stuff Yeah, there's not much else I have to say besides my throat hurts, I'm tired, and I'm cold... Yeah I know... y'all can listen to me bitch for a sentence but... like I said.. this was going to be a short letter. Have a most awesome weekend!! With all my heart, Kaylie

My dearest friends,
I'm a little pissed off right now because I had already started this letter before when my internet decided to close itself... And also I'm going to rant about school, so I'm sorry if this letter is a little angry sounding this week.
So I woke up this morning, went to Anatomy and found out we have a test next Monday. Which I was frankly a bit annoyed about because our last test was only four classes ago so that would mean only six classes between tests which isn't many when you consider the fact that this is a MWF class. So then I went straight to Organic Chem to find out that I also have a test in this class on Monday... which sucks. And then I preceeded to go to History to find out, you guessed it, that I have another test on Monday for that class. Needless to say, I got a little stressed out...
I'm really not that worried about Anatomy (I got a 94 on the first test and a 85 on the second) or History (I got a 95 on the only test in there) but I'm going to be honest, I am pretty freaking worried about my chem test.
You see, my Organic Chemistry is really very different from most OChem classes since mine is for Nursing majors mostly. And that does not mean that it is easier. In fact, I'd say it's harder. Because unlike other OChem classes we have to learn all the same information in about a fouth of the time. We don't even get a whole semester of just Organic Chem. The first half of the semester we study OChem and the second half we study Biochemistry which is a whole different subject. So really our first test in that class was our OChem midterm and next Monday will be the final... So you can just imagine how much information I've had to try and absorb in just a few weeks.
While I find Organic Chem to be an interesting subject, it's pretty different from most other kinds of Chemistry and you basically have to learn a new kind of chemistry language with stereoisomers and chiral/achiral and enantoimers and reaction types and functional groups. And don't even get me started on the naming... You would not believe how many rules you have to learn. I mean can you draw the structure of 2-ethyl-1-methyl-3-propylcyclohexane? Because I can. And that's not even hard one. Try 2-methyl-3,4-epoxyhexane. Ethers are a bitch to learn! I mean there's so much that even two teachers, my lecture professor and my lab TA, still forget to teach us some rules! Which I believe is why I missed the whole section on trans and cis isomers on the test because they failed to mention the longest carbon chain rule for those which is kind of important!
Anyways, I'll be studying a lot this weekend so that maybe I'll have some a semi-stress free weekend (hopefully). I miss you all very much and I hopy you didn't mind my chem talk too much!
Love, Meghan
