"Hmm..." He blinked and shook his head as if waking from a dream. "Oh... I'm sorry." He said softly. He looked away. "You never told me your name," He informed turning his body away from her and leaning his head against the wall to look at the ceiling.

"That's a pretty name," He said dreamily. He liked the certain ring her name had when he said it in his head. "What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"How much of a mess this is and how confused I am." She told him truthfully. She was debating on whether to turn around and face him or not, she was really curious to his reactions.

Finally rolling over and sitting straight up Taylor looked in his eyes and simply asked ,"Why did you save me?"

Jerome was baffled by her question. "Did you not want to be saved?" He asked. Confusion came over him, then saddness. If she didn't want him to save her then the only answer for her was death. His ears drooped again.

Taylor realized she had asked the wrong question and blushed her cheeks turning pink. "No, it's not that," she stamered. "But why would you want to rescue me?"

"The ship you were on didn't even notice that you had fallen overboard and by the time they would have figured it out you would probably be dead already. You were helpless, it was the least I could do. Though I know that it would have been better to take you back the land on Earth instead of bringing you here." Jerome answered.

Taylor just blinked slowly at him. "I'm not even in my universe...." She sat up on the edge of the bed and put her face in her hands. "What a mess.. What are my parents going to think? Am I ever going to even see them again?" She muttered to herself. Her words were too quite for any human to hear.

Jerome's ears twitched as he heard every word of what she said. He wondered if he should even answer the questions. He stood up and sat down on the edge of the bed beside her. He rubbed her back gently, "I will take you home as soon as I am able." He soothed.

Taylor jumped as he touched her, she hadn't heard him cross the room to sit beside her. She looked up at his face actually meeting his eyes for the first time, and something caught her there. She didn't know what it was but she couldn't pull away.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Jerome said. He couldn't seem to pull away from her own gaze, nor did he want too. His tail twitched back and forth.
