Jerome's black cat like ear flickered backwards, he heard someone walking in the hall outside the door. He stood completly still waiting for them to pass and they eventually did. He signed and went back to preparing. He was tired of the planet, and even though he knew he was not allowed to leave he was going to anyway. At least for a little while. It wouldn't be long before they started looking for him. He zipped up his bag and threw it over his shoulder then went to the door. He stopped with his hand on the handle to listen. Nothing. He opened the door gently and made his way to the launch deck. Thankfully no one was on the launch deck as he ran over to his sleek, black space cruser. Once inside his gold eyes scanned the horizon for any patroling ship then took off. He was gone before anyone had the chance to see him.

Jerome travelled through space seeing everything he had all ready seen before. He grumbled to himself, he wanted to see something new. And there it was a black hole on the farthest part of his universe. "I've already broken one rule, why not another?" He said to himself, then sped towards the black whole. His ship began to spin and twist as it entered the black hole until it finally spit him out. He had been tossed and jumbled around so much that he laying across the drivers seat and the seat next to it. "I should have bluckled myself in." He chuckled getting back in his seat. Out the front window was something he hand never seen before. A blue green planet with masses of white. It was beautiful.

The sun was shining and reflecting off the waves making everything bright. Taylor leaned agaisnt the railing of the cruise liner just watching the waves roll under it. Red bikini, White sunglasses pushed on top of her head holding her blonde hair in place. Looking at the waves she sighed. What a lovely way to spend a vacation. Alone with her parents.

Jerome drifted down closer to the planet making sure to keep hinden from watching eyes. He hide inside a storm cloud that was drifting over the wonderous blue waters. His eyes scanned the surrounding sea for signs of life, and just on the horizon he saw a ship.

Looking up at the horizon Taylor saw dark clouds, and started to wonder just how long it would be before the storm hit. What would take hours to get there on land seemed to take mere seconds out on the open ocean. Sighing with regret Taylor turned away from the railing and quickly made it to the suite where her and her parents shared a room. She threw on a white razor backed tank top and blue jean shorts over her swim suit. Then turned from the room back onto the deck. Already the coulds were getting darker. She made her way to the one of the ship's many eating places and sat down for a quick bite to eat.

Jerome watched the people on the ship, like a god in the heavens, eyes golden eyes seeing the faces easily. These people were strange to him. No ears like his, not tail. It fasinated him.

After Taylor had finished her meal, she sat there for a minute and sighed mournfully. She still had a week left, and nothing exciting was going to happen. She has already looked for people her own age and had found none. None at least who were normal enough to actually get to be friends with. The one boy who played chess, and that one goth chick. Looking out the glass windows she saw fat rain drops start to fall on their clear panes. In a few minutes she could hardly see a few feet out onto the deck it was raining so hard. She would be soaked trying to get back to her rooml.

She stood up and walked to the window were the rain was lashing agasint the ship. Where on earth had this storm come from and what had happened to her sunny day? Taylor was debating whether or not to stay and wait the storm out or return to her room when her mind was made up for her. "All guests please return to your assigned rooms. Please do not panic, this is just a gusty storm we've hit, and should not be longer than a couple of hours. Once again, please return to your room and stay there until further notice. Thank you," The Capitan's voice said over the loud speaker. Sighing regretfully and being cooped up with her parents in the suite of rooms Taylor turned and made her way to the door to the deck. Pausing before she stepped out, she pushed open the door and gasped when it was ripped out of her hands by the force of the wind. Quickly stepping out and pulling the door shut behind her she started making her way to the other side of the ship where her rooms were. The strong wind was forcing her to stay close to the wall for support. In seconds she was soaked.

A girl caught Jerome's eyes as she stepped out onto the deck. "This must not be a very smart race. Someone could easily fall off that boat in this storm," He said to himself watching her carefully.

Taylor was regretting not staying in her room when she had originally seen the storm as she faught it to get to the other side of the boat. Coming to the end of her wall she stopped letting the rain pour down. She had reached the middle of the boat where the walls stopped and it opened out into and open area on the deck. This could be bad. Taking a deep breath, she plunged away from the wall and out into to open. The wind was worse out here knocking her about every which way. The rain had made the deck wet making balance almost impossible with the strength of the wind. The rain itself struck her skin with stinging force. With one storng force of wind Taylor was pushed agaisnt the outside rail. She let out a cry as she was slamed agasint it with brusing force. She cluthched on to the rail as the wind continued to batter her as she faught her way across. Slipping with one step Taylor fell to her knees losing grip of the railing. Her eyes got wide as a wave rolled over the ship and struck her. Pushed under the rail that wasn't very low Taylor fel off the side of the ship and into the rolling ocean.

"NO!" Jerome said gripping the controls of the ship. The urge to save her almost overwhelmed him. He knew couldn't go down there to help her. There were others on the deck that would see him if he dove in after her. But he would go after her when it was safe, whether she survived or not. His eyes stayed on her making sure not to loose her in the angry waves and at the same time watching as the ship continued forward.

Taylor sputtered in the rolling mess of waves, her past summer of lifegaurding taking hold. Most importantly she stayed calm. She knew as soon as she panicked that it was over, she would lose the fight agaisnt the storm. The odds were already against her. SHe had to stay positive. Looking around in the water Taylor knew she couldn't have been the only thing to go overboard. She knew she wouldn't last much longer just treading water. Spotting something white floating in the water she made her way towards it fighting for every inch of water covered. Finally reaching it, she found it was a cooler and holding on to it she managed to stay above the water. She hadn't been in the water for very long and she was already tired. And who knew how much longer the storm would last. And more importantly, when she would be found.

It was the longest thirty minutes Jerome ever had to wait, but the ship finally went out of sight leaving the girl to die. His black ship blended with the down pour of rain as he lowered down as close as he could to the ocean's surface. He tied a rope around his waist and opened the side hatch. His nose wrinkled as rain hit his face. He was a cat more or less and the dislike for water was still there. He lept out of the ship into the water then swam over to her fighting the waves. He took hold of the cooler to show that he was there, then took her hands and circled then around his neck. "Hold on!" He said to her taking hold of the rope. There was barely any sign of exhaustion in his breathing.

Taylor looked up at the strange hands grabbing, and barely registered them. She was exhausted and on the verge of passing out. Holding on around the person's neck, she stayed there with the last strength she had. Relief was there though, she was safe.
