"I don't know. I just met him! I don't even know his last name." Cammie admitted. A loud buzzing sound came on the intercom, signaling the end of the period. "Finally!"

Together they walked out to the front gates on their school, surrounded by hundreds of other students. Cammie looked around smiling and waving at people she knew. Then she saw him. He was leaning oh so casually against a pillar, his dark brown hair shining in the sun. A hint of an orange and blue tattoo on his upper arm. Cammie gasped. "Oh. My. God."

"What? What is it?" asked Lizzie, now completly lost.
What am I doing here? Max asked himself skanning the crowds for his mystery girl. He couldn't believe what his uncle was pushing him into. Murder? He had never thought himself capable of it. And yet here he was, waiting for some innconent girl to come along. Then what? He didn't exactly have a plan for this. He just sort of came to the school. After his uncle had thrown him the picture he must of spent nearly half the day circaling around his room, thinking of what to do. He wasn't stupid. It's not like he brought a gun, and was just planning on shooting her. No, what ever he was going to have to do, it was going to have to be sneaky, and planned out. It made him cringe just thinking about it. He arrived right before the bell rung and just stood near the exit, waiting for his victim to appear. His uncle had siad that the picture was taken a couple of years ago, so the girl had changed a bit. Somehow, though, the girl looked odly familar to him. Then he saw her. And it hit him like a ton of bricks. All of a sudden he new exactly who Camille Carter was. The girl from the tattoo parlor flashed in his head. "I'm Camie she had said. No doubt short for Camille. Of course it had to be the girl that he had actually met. She seemed like a nice person, how could he just take her life away. He thought about getting out of there while he still could, but she was staring right at him. There was no turning back now, she had spotted him, and was probably wondering why he was there. He started to walk towards her, trying to think up a reason for coming.

"Oh my god! He's coming over!" Cammie squealed. Lizzie still looked confused. "That's him! Max! Do I look okay?"

It was too late. He was already there. She turned to him. It was the same Max from the tattoo parlor. The one who had helped calm her nerves. The sweet, funny guy she wanted to get to know better. But something was different about him. His green eyes held a sadness she couldn't explain. "Max?," she said breathlessly.

"Hey, you remembered my name, I'm impressed." said Max putting on a smile. He felt so rotten inside, and it was killing him. He had taken drama in high school so he was a reasonably good actor. "So how did your tattoo go?"

She smiled and lifted the end of her shirt to show off the pink star. "It hurt like hell but it was worth it. What are you doing here? Oh and this is my friend Lizzie," Cammie said and introduced her friend.

"Max." he said refering to himself.
"I know." said Lizzie smiling. He was so cute, and charming. Perfect boyfriend material. Not for herself, of course. NO one was as good as a man as her boyfriend Jason, whom she had been dating all last year and this. But Cammie was sertanly single. "Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to... do something... with someone." said Lizzie winking to Cammie as she turned away.
"Nice friend." said Max smiling.

Cammie threw Lizzie a death stare over her shoulder before turning back to Max. "Yeah, well sometimes. So are you going here now or something?" She asked. Or maybe he was just here to see her? The thought gave her a thrill and made her heart start pounding a little faster.

"No, I just dropped into say hi." he said thinking he had no choice but to lie. What was he going to say? No, I'm here to kill you on behalf of my crazed uncle "I thought you might like to go get a coffee or something?"

"Yeah, sure. That'd be great."Cammie asnwered smiling. She was pleased he wanted to spend time with her but it seemed like there was something he wasn't telling her. Oh well. She thought to herself. I'm sure it's nothing. But it was.

"Mind if we take your car?" siad Max as they walked. "I don't really have a car yet and I had to take the bus over here. And just so you know, Mirv is the slowest bus driver around, so if you're in a hurry you might want to take the next one."

"That's fine," said Cammie with a laugh. Together they walked out to the student parking lot, Cammie leading the way to a baby blue Beemer. "This is me," she announced as they neared it.
