"We are leaving you alone, we don't want you any more so leave now." A voice figure said to a young girl of 3 and a boy of 5. "Don't even bother packing just leave. NOW!!" The two children ran out the door of the house into the street. "AND DON"T COME BACK!" The man voiced behind them as they ran.
They both ran hand in hand down the street. Once they reached the corner the girl began to slow huffing from exhaustion. She hit a rock on the road and fell on her face, scrapping her knee. The boy knelt beside her. "Are you ok Kaori?" He said turning her over. Her face was stained with dirt blood and tears, the blood from cutting her forehead on a rock.
The boy got her into a sitting position and hugged her, "It will be okay." He said stroking her hair.
And they sat tears running down both of their faces.
Once they had wiped their tears from their faces they hugged again and then stood still holding hands. They began to walk down the street to the one place they could go to talk to some one.
As they wandered the streets, they caught a man’s eye. He stopped, and then smiled, his eyes heavy and kindhearted, as if feeling their pain utterly. He had deep-set blue eyes that were like two turquoises. His silky, straight, charcoal-colored hair was neck-length and was worn in a handsome, businesslike style. His skin was tan and he had long-fingered hands. On his left hand was a band. His clothes were a man kimono.
The boy stopped confusion in his eyes he had lost himself in his thoughts and had forgotten where he was going. Kaori pulled on his shirt, "What's wrong brother?" She said sweetly.
He was silent not answering her question. Kaori turned seeing the man watching them.
The man stared at them, and then smiled. He slowly walked toward them, a kind and lovely smile on his face.
Kaori looked at the man as he walked closer toward her and her brother. Her brother noticed him then leapt in front of Kaori to protect her if need be.
Do not worry child." he replied with a patient and warm one in his voice, like a voice that you would here a fellow storyteller. He smiled, “Are you orphans?" he questioned.
"We are as of now." The boy said.
Kaori hind behind him looking at the man.
He smiled at them, “What are your names children," he knelt down to their level, and looked to little Kaori, his eyes twinkling at her.
Kaori came out from behind her brother. She walked up to him slowly and looked him in the eyes, then smiled. "Kaori." She said happily holding out a hand.
"Ranaz." The boy said behind her.
The man lightly held her hand in his large hand, the warmth of is body cooling her hand. "Nice to meet you Lady Kaori. Sir RanaZ," he replied with a golden smile. "Touya you may call me," he replied to the children before him.
Kaori smiled. "Nice to meet you, Touya."
He nodded, “The same goes for me as well." he smiled with his kind eyes once again, twinkling.
"Why did you ask if we were orphaned?" RanaZ asked the man.
Kaori smiled at him kindly forgetting about what had happened with her father.
