Hannah Jones was just like any other 7 year old girl living in 1955. She had a loving family including her parents and her 10 year old brother, Jake. But one fact separated her from what you would call a typical child.
One day her heart just suddenly ceased to beat. The incident caused such a ruckus in the small community that a investigation was started immediately. Most doctors believed that some underlying family problem had caused her heart failure, but anyone that laid their eyes upon her would say otherwise. Just one glance at the horrified expression on that poor girls face could twist anyones stomach. Despite what the doctors thought, a thorough investigation was done on the local tragedy. There was nothing unusual about the girl herself besides her abrupt heart failure, so the detectives questioned the family instead.
It was reported that, at midnight, Jake Jones had run to tell his parents that he had seen a monster outside of his sister's window. Both of the parents walked to Hannah's room and saw her sitting up right staring at the window in front of her. The parents called her name and when no reply was made they discovered her to be dead. No matter how much they tried to convince the child, Jake kept ranting about there being a monster outside of the window that had killed his sister, but everyone believed it to be a way to deal with the trauma of it all. Because there was no evidence of foul play of any kind the case was dropped within a few weeks, and was announced to be a freak accident. But soon, the accidents were pilling up.
Not long after the investigation stopped, Jake's parents were in a terrible car accident. Jake came out without a scratch on him while both his mother and father were killed instantly. This only plunged Jake farther away from reality and he once again based the occurrences on a terrifying monster. Without anything else to do with him, Jake was sent to a mental hospital at the fragile age of 11. He did not give up his claims until he was 25 years old and they finally released him from the ward.
